The aim is for you to build up a body of work that will enable you to revise easily

Students will be expected to be actively contributing in lessons.
Classroom teachers should not be expected to have to remind you to get on or to work. You have chosen to study this subject.
Students should be prepared to ask for help if they are unsure or do not know what to do.
Students who fail to attend lessons without prior notification will always be followed up on, and contact made with parents at home to notify them.
How much prep work will I be expected to do outside my lessons?
As a benchmark, students should be doing about 1-1.5 hours per week towards the subject.
When students are preparing for formative assessments, they should be doing slightly more time in terms of revision.
What sort of tasks will I be asked to complete?
Completing any incomplete notes from class if they were not finished or if you were absent.
Completing set tasks such as essay questions or tasks set for homework.
Revisiting notes and ensuring you keep up to date with the topics we have looked at.
Revising and improving work that your teacher has marked and would like you to adapt.

Sixth Form Presentation and Feedback
The aim is for you to build up a body of work that will enable you to revise easily. Students are expected to:
Keep ALL their work in organised folders
Provide their own A4 lever arch folders – one for each component of the syllabus (3 folders in total - Physiological Factors, Psychological Factors and Socio-Cultural Issues), as well as having a ‘working folder’ that contains all notes / handouts from the current topic(s) that are being studied
Transfer all work/notes to the corresponding A4 lever arch ‘component folder’ once a topic has been completed
Keep their folders organised - use dividers to keep your work in sections and in line with the syllabus, as well as having an outline of the specification at the front of each folder.
Show their teachers their notes/ folder on a regular basis in order to receive feedback on them.
Attend all lessons with the correct set of equipment, which should include pens, highlighters, ruler etc. and their working folder.
Have within their working folder – a tracking sheet to help you understand the progress you are making, key dates sheet which outlines all internal assessments, as well as any course admin.
Ensure that ALL their work is neat, legible and of a sufficient standard that it can be revisited in the future for formative assessments.
Keep ALL exam/test papers and feedback from these papers together in your folders for revision purposes.
Copy up any missed notes / complete any set work in your own time if you miss a lesson.
What will be expected of me in lessons?
Attend ALL lessons. If you cannot attend due to extenuating circumstances, you must email your teacher and request (and complete) lesson content in your own time.
Arrive promptly to lessons, fully prepared and organised
Be ready for learning at the start of lesson with ALL equipment and folder out on the desk
Behave in a way that supports your own and others' learning.
Set high expectations for yourself and work to the best of your ability in every lesson – take pride in your work
Listen to, and act on feedback given in order to improve your work.
Show resilience – keep trying even if you find things difficult.
To be fully focussed and engaged in all tasks
Contribute towards class discussions/tasks by sharing valid ideas and thoughts to enhance learning.
Check your own understanding throughout the lessons and be active in seeking help when required. Furthermore, you should be asking questions to extend your understanding and knowledge.
Complete and meet ALL NEA deadlines
Complete and hand in ALL homework tasks in on time
How much prep work will I be expected to do outside my lessons?
Theory – Approx. 1-3 hours per week per syllabus component
Practical performance – Will vary depending on your chosen sport
What sort of tasks will I be asked to complete?
Revisiting notes and ensuring you keep up to date with the topics we have looked at.
Revising and improving work that your teacher has marked and would like you to adapt.
Completing any incomplete notes from class if they were not finished or if you were absent.
Completing regularly exam-style homework’s or other homework tasks
Completing tasks within your topic tests and work booklets
Short-answer retrieval style questions
Keeping abreast with the news within the world of sport
To be regularly engaging in competitive sport – this will involve weekly training sessions and participating in fixtures for a team or club
Provide evidence of your involvement in competitive sport:
Keep an up-to-date log of your participation in competitive sport using the template provided
Obtain regularly footage of your performance within your chosen sport – this will include both training and match footage that covers the skills highlight within the practical criteria for your chosen sport
Upload this footage to your google drive folder – labelling each video clip correctly

I am struggling with my prep and/or classwork. How can I access additional support when I’m in school? When I’m at home?
Contact your classroom teacher to make them aware – they will offer you 1:1 support
Revisit course material by going through your notes, textbook and revision guide.
Watch the selected YouTube video clips that cover the topics within the syllabus on the Google Classroom page
What sort of additional, independent study should I be doing? How long should I be spending on this?
Time: at least 1-3 hours per week per syllabus component.
Reading through course notes
Making revision aids for each topic area covered
Produce a glossary of terms for each topic area covered.
Discussing relevant material with other A level PE students.
Reading through teacher feedback and making amendments to any suggested improvements
Reading around topics that we are studying in lessons – through the use of PE Review magazine
Use the PE eRevision software package
Completing tasks within your Active Revision Work Booklets
Reading and completing tasks within your Exam Preparation Booklet
Make notes of events that occur within the world of sport, i.e. drug scandals / gambling offences committed by sportspeople / violent acts that may have taken place within a sporting setting / new sporting technology that may have been developed etc.

Your’ notes should include an outline of the specification and some form of tracking sheet to help you understand the progress you are making
Outline of key dates for Internal and external assessments
Notes should be dated and in the case of folders correctly filed.
Your tests/exams should be kept together.
You should avoid writing on loose paper that is then just put in a bag.
You will be expected to show teachers your notes on a regular basis and receive regular feedback on them.
If you fail to keep a “decent” set of notes you will be given an opportunity to resolve the situation. If that fails you will be referred to your Form Tutor and HoD and HoY.
You will be given a “lab book” to record key practicals in and this should be kept in school unless told otherwise. All practical work and recording of results, methods and analysis of these practicals should be carried out as requested.
You are expected to purchase or borrow, with a deposit, the required textbook for the course.

Students must be able to work independently in all practical sessions to the standard of the CPAC competencies (OCR experimental skills):
1) Safely and correctly using a range of equipment and materials.
2) Follow written instructions.
3) Write up experiments in the correct scientific format (introduction/aim/method/results/conclusion/discussion).
4) Make and record accurate, and precise, observations and measurements.
5) Present their results scientifically (table and graphs).
