Belper School played host for the day to 18 German Post 16 students from the Hans-Litten Schule in Berlin. The visit was co-ordinated by former colleague Anke who left us last year and is now having a great impact in her new school. The visit to the school was part of a programme that gave students the opportunity to have a tour of the school, visit a number of classes and have a preview performance of The Lord of the Flies production from the schools younger students. The students were greatly appreciative of the very warm welcome they received throughout the visit and commented on the excellent facilities the school has. Anke was over the moon at meeting all her old friends. Later in the day the group visited the town centre for some shopping and then visited the World Heritage site - 'The East Mill' and Long Row for a historical perspective. After this the group visited London and whilst not quite as exciting I'm sure they enjoyed it none the less. We hope to build on this for future collaborations.
